Inspired by graffiti and cubism I set out to create a hybrid that speaks to both of these genres while bringing sophistication to the urban flair. Faced with the flatness that graffiti can bring to inside walls, I built up the surface with sand and paste. I also added a splatter element to the negative space to create tension in the structure for a more interesting dynamic. Contemporary social questions form the narratives with the bombardment of media and symbolism in today's culture.
